Dr. Kristyn Vitale will be joined by one of the world’s leading Pet Loss Grief Counselors, Beth Bigler, GC-C, PGSS-C of Honoring Our Animals. Join them on the maueyes YouTube website livestream as they help us learn to deal with the loss of our feline friends.

Are you ready to be part of the solution for feral and stray cats in your neighborhood? In this workshop, expert instructors will teach you best practices for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and colony management. Learn what TNR is and why it works. We’ll cover getting along with neighbors, preparations for trapping, trapping itself (including entire colonies at once), feeding, providing winter shelter, and more. Session is 2.5 hours, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.

Edmonton International CatFest, Edmonton, Canada

The Edmonton International Cat Festival brings together cat lovers to celebrate cats and cat culture, while raising money and awareness for rescues helping cats in need. live workshops to gain skills in pet first aid or learn the history of cats from the past. Perhaps you’d like to take your kitty to a virtual cat yoga session. If you’re in the mood for something more family-oriented, there’s storytime, art lessons.

As a Surrender Prevention Specialist, you may be the difference between a cat losing her home and staying in her home.

 

Dr. Rachel Geller shares her wisdom about how to help new cat guardians keep their new furball in their home. She’ll cover how to empathize with cat owners, work around their limitations (financial, time, patience), and tackle the 3 most common reasons for surrender. EST. $10 donation/fee.

2024 Online Kitten Conference

The Online Kitten Conference is a virtual convention for anyone who’d like to create a better future for the smallest felines! The two-day virtual gathering will feature presentations by experts on raising and saving kittens, setting up and managing kitten-centered shelter programs, and more. You’ll gain valuable insights and have your questions answered by leaders in the animal welfare community.

 

Early bird registration is just $50 (but increases to $75 in early May) and includes access to the live event and recorded sessions after the event, as well as speaker slides, handouts, and more. 10am-5pm EST each day.

CatCon 2024, Pasadena CA USA

 

August 3rd & 4th, 2024

CatCon 2024 is taking place at the Pasadena Convention Center. The show consists of an exhibit hall with an adoption village, photo ops, conversations with experts, and cat products. Check out Yelp for mixed reviews of last year’s show due to crowded conditions, long waits, and emphasis on cat trinkets rather than products. Hours are 10 am – 5 pm each day. Tickets $50.

American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) 2024 Conference, Minneapolis, MN, USA

 
September 26-29, 2024

The annual conference will take place at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, MN. This year’s theme is feline Dermatology, Cardiology, & Diagnostic Methodology.

 

Sessions are still being finalized but will include all areas of feline dermatology, cardiology, and diagnostic methodology.

Community Cats is a go-to site that offers a podcast, blog, grants, a mentoring program, online conferences, networking, and sharing opportunities.

 

Community Cats collaborate with other established organizations (including Neighborhood Cats) to offer free or low-cost training in best-practices methods so people are able to help cats in their own communities.
