Thanks to social media, humans today are more determined than ever to dress up their pets. National Dress Up Your Pet Day was launched in 2009 by celebrity animal behaviorist Colleen Paige. If you can dress up your cat without hurting or humiliating him, and Mittens gets some yummy treats in return, a short photo shoot shouldn’t hurt. But never force your pet to wear a costume. Instead, entice him. And make sure you avoid a costume that’s too hot or constricting.
