🎬 TVBini: Featured Cat Video Channel

The TV BINI YouTube channel makes fun videos designed to entertain cats. Bini, hailing from the USA, has created over 200 videos that entrance cats with images of scurrying mice, flittering birds, crawling lizards, and more. Each video has movement and sound on the screen that mimics cat prey. The videos will stimulate your cat’s natural instinct to explore and hunt. And our pets are adorable when we see them react by chattering at or tapping on the screen! The videos are especially important for cats who live in homes without windows with views of birds, such as apartments in the city.

Jackson Galaxy has featured the TV BINI site, emphasizing that cat entertainment videos are an important way to help satisfy your cat’s natural instinct to hunt. Jackson suggests following up cat’s TV/computer/tablet/phone watching with toys so your cat can sink his or her teeth into “prey.”

Many videos feature computer video generated ‘prey’

Mewla: Welcome, Bini of TV BINI!

Tell us, what was it that inspired you to create interactive videos for cats?

Bini: I’ve always had cats since I was a little girl, and having cats around me has always been part of my life. But I had a very special cat named Nicki. He was the inspiration for TV BINI. Kawzi reminds me of Nicki because Nicki was a black cat too.

Nicki was timid and shy when I adopted him as a kitten. He needed special attention, so I worked hard to bond with him. I gave him plenty of attention and played with him. Over time, our playtime interactions brought him out of his shell. One of the things that entertained him was moving the mouse cursor on the computer screen. He loved chasing the cursor around and seemed to enjoy it.

I realized later, when I saw cats playing games on the Ipad and watching TV, that things moving on the screen are wonderful interactive stimulation for cats. Since my passion and hobby are in animation and videography, I combined my love for cats and digital media to produce videos to entertain cats. I’ve been the one-woman operation behind the TV BINI YouTube channel for about 8 years now. I enjoy the friendliness of the cat community, and it’s so much fun creating these videos knowing that it positively impacts pets and their owners. I love receiving cat reaction videos. Those certainly make my day!

Mewla: It’s really funny to see how the cats respond. I know that our cats are unable to resist the videos, even when they try to, lol.

What types of sights or sounds seem to get cats’ attention most easily?

Bini: I film real nature, birds, squirrels, and mice. Their images and sounds are natural and recognizable to cats and other pets. I also have animations of various animals and objects like strings, toys, 3d objects, and things like that. I add familiar nature sounds to my animations, which seems to stimulate the cats to interact with the moving animated objects.

Some cats are stimulated by the videos more than others. It depends on the cat’s personality, age, preference, etc.

Videos also feature nature scenes and sounds

However, I think it’s important to remember that while video entertainment for pets is good stimulation for animals, it’s not a substitute for physical, real-world interaction. Never neglect your pets, and always spend quality time one-on-one with them.

Mewla:  Very true! As a writer/creator, I try to play with my pets before we all settle down (me to work, and the cats for nap #20 of the day, lol).

You say your videos are a labor of love. What has been one of the rewards you’ve found most gratifying from creating your videos?

Bini: The surprising and wonderful thing about the channel is that I’ve received feedback from non-cat owners who say their animals are engaged and interact with my videos. The other pets, like dogs, birds, lizards, frogs, and even chickens, are equally entertained.

Mewla: That’s so interesting. I remember seeing a video of a lizard interacting with one of your videos, but birds and frogs?  That has to be fun to watch.
