Hannibal

This story comes from Christine in Britain.

Hanni "adapting" to his new home : )
Hanni today (looks like he never moved, lol)

In 2016, I regularly noticed a very bedraggled looking white cat wandering around the neighbourhood. He used to hang about the nearby shops where he’d be seen looking in trash bags for scraps of food.  His shyness prevented anyone from getting too close to him, so no one really knew where he lived.

Christine continues:

Several months went by, then one afternoon I saw him in my backyard (actually, he was pooping in a flowerpot!). On opening my door he shot off, but hid behind the hedge. He appeared to look the worse for wear so I went inside to get a pack of my own cats food for him. Seeing it in a bowl, he gradually stalked across the paving slabs and began munching his way through every morsel.

This was the start of our friendship, every morning he’d be up on the roof watching out for me …I couldn’t just leave him with nothing. He was so dirty I eventually managed to take him to a vet. There was no microchip, so not knowing if he was stray, I placed ads locally to see if he had an owner. None came forward.

That’s the story of how Hanni ( Hannibal the Warrior ) was ‘adopted’ as a lifetime, forever friend. He is dearly loved and always will be. We think, from the vets examination, that he is possibly about eleven years old.
