Did you know that there is an organization for creators who love and advocate for cats?
Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) was created to help get “good information about cats out to the general public, and support writers dedicated to that effort.”[1] Today CWA is an international organization with over 300 members.
CWA members include:
- fine artists
- photographers
- videographers
- graphic designers
- television and social media celebrities
- book authors
- free-lance writers and journalists
- illustrators
- bloggers
- trap-neuter-rescue advocates, humane society, and animal shelter workers
- veterinarians, and vet techs

CWA’s goal, since it started in 1992, has been to “improve the quality of cat information for the general public and to inspire, educate, and inform.”[1] The group offers a yearly conference and a yearly contest, as well as writer retreats.
